Low dose imaging
CSCAN opted for GE’s VCT XTe which offers a fundamental shift in low-dose image quality.
Lowering radiation dose used to mean sacrificing image quality — but not anymore. The LightSpeed VCT XTe offers a bold new paradigm, bringing clinicians high-quality images at low dose.
Typically, dose reduction causes an increase in noise and image artifacts. But GE’s Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction (ASiR) solves this by actually subtracting noise, not merely masking it. As a result, ASiR delivers enhanced image quality and improved low contrast detectability while preserving anatomic detail.
Up to 40% less dose with no compromise in image quality.
Empowered by the new Xtream™ HD console, ASiR allows for low-dose scanning across all anatomies and patients with no loss of image quality. The result is better patient care with a dramatic reduction in dose.
Protocols for all ages
In addition to ASiR’s power to lower dose, the LightSpeed VCT XTe offers procedure-based protocols. Particularly important in pediatric applications, these protocols help clinicians balance dose and image quality to optimize paediatric patient care. CSCAN is proud to support the international “image gently” campaign and has dedicated paediatric protocols in place to avoid unnecessarily high radiation doses to our children.
64 detectors but 500 detector equivalent imaging
Volume Helical Shuttle — covers up to 500 slices for 4D CT Angiography
Perfusion coverage up to 140mm
Volume Helical Shuttle helps extend anatomical assessment further. The technique allows you to cover the range you need while avoiding the cone-beam artifact of today’s widest detectors.
Volume Helical Shuttle is a continuous bi-directional scan mode that extends z-coverage and improves temporal sampling. GE’s Dynamic Pitch reconstruction method utilizes scan data acquired during table acceleration and deceleration, as well as during constant table speed.
This innovative approach can further extend coverage for expansive studies. For example, you can perform a 500 slice 4D-CTA study to characterize the inflow and outflow in the chest arterial and venous system, yielding high resolution volume coverage over a length of 312.5mm.
In addition, Volume Helical Shuttle allows you to perform perfusion studies of the brain and body organs, and because of ASiR reconstruction technology, dose can still be reduced by up to 40%.
